From June 8th to June 11th, music and culture fans filled Park 360 in Hradec Kralové for the Rock for People Festival organised by Ameba Production. NFCtron has been providing services for the event for the past two years. Together with the organisers, we utilised the experience from the previous year's collaboration to make the payment process even more enjoyable for the visitors. Thanks to the data from the previous edition, we helped elevate the festival as a whole and bring it closer to the standards of major international events, not only in terms of the quality of food and drinks but also prioritising visitor safety and the overall quality of the festival environment, where tens of thousands of visitors move around for four days.
Ticket sales through NFCtron Tickets during the event
Ticket sales via NFCtron Tickets during the event were a success. Over 70% of the four-day ticket holders topped up their credits online before the event using NFCtron Tickets, which represents a 20% increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, this year we introduced online ticket sales during the event itself. We managed the on-site registration process entirely under our supervision, including the training and coordination of the hired staff, who were prepared for the influx of tens of thousands of people. We also improved the accreditation process this year to set up festival zones for controlling the movement of visitors, production teams, bands, and their crews.
This year, we introduced Dotypay terminals at the top-up stations for the first time and improved the branding and placement of the booths to make them more accessible to visitors. Komerční banka partnered with Rock for People to offer benefits to VISA cardholders, who could receive up to CZK 200 in additional credit for their initial top-up. The average top-up amount by visitors during the event exceeded CZK 2,000.
Future Fest 2030 - one step closer to sustainability
As the general partner of the festival, Komerční banka, in collaboration with VISA, prepared a special zone for visitors called KB FutureFest 2030. The main theme of this area was sustainability and ecology. In addition to using sustainable or recyclable materials, the stages were powered by electricity generated from solar panels or hydrogen. Throughout the four-day festival, various inspiring panel discussions and other presentations took place on the stages, responding to the theme of future festivals.
Feedback for making the festival even better
Rock for People attendees were able to track their expenses through the NFCtron mobile application. Similar to last year, many visitors took advantage of the opportunity to provide feedback on their orders, and the organisers responded to many of the suggestions during the event. The feedback provided by the attendees will be used by the organisers in planning for the 2024 edition. The mobile app has become the dominant platform due to its simplicity, allowing visitors to request credit refunds after the event.
Over 300 transactions per minute thanks to NFCtron
During the event, there were 573 active devices, and at peak times, we recorded 301 transactions per minute. Led directly by Senior Event Specialist Honza Příhoda, the team took care of the organisers, vendors, and visitors throughout the entire event. Together, we provided 74 trained staff members who delivered an excellent performance during the four busy days. Our DEV team from Prague provided support on-site, and our support team was available for the entire four days, answering visitors' inquiries.
Looking forward to next year
In conclusion, we must commend the organisers for their excellently designed venue and the well-executed food court with a direct view of the main KB stage. There were a total of 6 stages in the area, and all of them offered a rich program. The headliners did not disappoint and delivered a magnificent show. The organisers successfully manage to raise the bar for the festival's program and venue every year, providing visitors with unforgettable memories year after year.
