The scalable cashless solution from NFCtron is available for events of any size. A perfect example is the Super Bier Fest in Vienna, held on November 8th and 9th at MARX HALLE. In 2024, the event transitioned from physical tokens (jetons) to a digital solution powered by NFCtron.
For organizers Matthias Balgavy and Martin Mühl, this was a significant step into the unknown. Physical tokens required endless counting after the event, with no clear overview of how much each vendor earned. They wanted NFCtron to help them reshape the event and attract new visitors for future editions.

Tickets with Integrated Credit Top-Up
We set up a shopping cart for Super Bier Fest to enable online ticket sales both before and during the event. This allowed visitors to purchase tickets and top up their credit in a single transaction. The organizers also took advantage of partner tickets and secret promo codes for the event’s closest supporters. NFCtron Tickets is a mobile-optimized platform available on the web or within the NFCtron app. Organizers can fully customize the event profile with colors, logos, and even create a custom banner for marketing materials or the mobile app.
It’s Easier Than It Looks
Before every event, we onboard new vendors and finalize agreements with the organizer to ensure prompt settlement of sales after the event ends. Together with the organizer, we prepare wristband designs with embedded chips and manage their production. For Super Bier Fest, there were two wristband designs, and for VIP guests, we issued cards with virtual credit for use.
More than 30 vendors participated in the 2024 edition. We also activated cash registers on behalf of individual vendors. Vendors could even be registered during the event—a process that takes only a few minutes.
Both organizers and vendors had access to their accounts in NFCtron Hub, where they could view data, create or modify products, export sales reports, or check visitor ratings. NFCtron Hub is fully optimized for mobile devices as well. We distributed the sales proceeds according to the terms set by the organizer. At Super Bier Fest, the first sellers received their payments within three days after the event, with all others paid within five business days of the event’s conclusion.

For the first time in its 14-year history, the Super Bier Fest in 2024 provided organizers with detailed insights, helping them prepare for the next edition in April 2025.
Visitors submitted free refund requests, with the majority coming from the mobile app on Android and iOS—a surprising outcome given the event’s traditionally older target audience. This unexpected behavior was a revelation, not only for the organizer but for us as well.
During the post-event debrief, we shared valuable insights into visitor orders and provided recommendations for improving vendor relationships and enhancing communication with attendees.
