The August calendar at NFCtron is filling up with events that give us a reason to look forward to very intense month. After successfully wrapping up July with Ed Sheeran, we are now excited about a series of thrilling events not only in the Czech Republic but also in Slovakia. We have unbelievable 62 events on the list! You can conveniently pay with a chip bracelet or a card. We’re heading to festivals for the first time, as well as returning to those where NFCtron payments have already become a tradition.
Back in Milovice
This year, we are once again returning to Milovice for the world’s largest drum & bass festival – Let It Roll. This legendary festival welcomes its visitors with fantastic DJ sets and an electrifying atmosphere. For the third year in a row, we are offering visitors the convenience of paying with a chip wristband, which they can top up online before the event. Additionally, at the top-up points, we don't print information papers – electronic music enthusiasts can easily find everything directly in the NFCtron mobile app.
In the second August week, the Jelen & přátelé concert returns to Přibyslav after three years. This year, for the first time, the home festival of Jelen band is being held in collaboration with us, promising an amazing evening with Rybičky 48, songwriter Pokáč and Kateřina Marie Tichá with her band Bandjeez. Get ready for a fabulous musical show.
August in the name of sport
The beginning of August kicks off with the Paris 2024 Olympic Festival, returning to the lake after eight years, this time in Most. This festival not only encourages children to engage in sports but also brings the atmosphere of Olympic games directly to the Czech Republic. We are implementing card payments at the festival and those who can’t use this option can conveniently pay with NFCtron card. No more searching for loose change in your pockets!
Another event worth mentioning is Ostrava v plamenech, an international rok-metal open-air festival, held on August 3rd in Dolní Vítkovice. Chip payments are implemented here fourth year already - nor cash neither card is not accepted here. Remember to download the NFCtron mobile app for Andoid or iOS prior the event, so you have all your payments literally at your fingertips.
Brand new festival is here
On August 9th and 10th, we’ll be heading to the fifth edition of multi-genre festival Chodrockfest. But that isn’t all! For the very first time, we are implementing NFCtron payments on Hrotovická pouť as well.
In the penultimate week of August, the picturesque grounds of the Moravský Krumlov Castle will host the Rock Castle music festival, organized by PRAGOKONCERT BOHEMIA. This unique festival offers not only a wide spectrum of music but also a stunning setting. And of course, the summer wouldn’t be complete without Mácháč, which we’ve been part of for the fourth year already! This legendary open-air beach festival is not only a Czech favourite but also historically one of the most significant electronic music festivals in Central Europe.
Beyond borders and more
This year we’re heading back to the Slovak festival Lovestream, which runs from August 16th to 18th. This year’s lineup features star names like 50 Cent, Rita Ora, Tiësto, and Macklemore - it’s going to be a blast! And what’s next? On our journey for musical experiences, we’ll be attending Festival Skaly for the very first time, where you can look forward to performances by N.O.H.A., drum & bass storm from Metrik and rapper Gleb.
In the final week of August, things are going wild: NFCtron is heading to 24 events!
Get ready for August to end with a bang as the final week will be a true festival marathon! We’re gearing up for incredible 24 events in just 7 days! What can you look forward to?
First up is the All American Fest, where for three days, you’ll be transported to America without ever leaving Prague. Expect iconic Harley-Davidsons and authentic American cuisine. Forget cash - everything is paid for with a chip wristband that you'll receive upon entry. Plus who knows, you might even get lucky and win a flight to America!
Another exciting event on NFCtron's August agenda is Helfest, the international anniversary festival of the band Helenine oči, taking place on August 31st at the Summer Pool Delňa in Prešov. This year, the festival celebrates its second edition with us. We joined in for the first time last year and the remaining funds from the chip payments were donated to a good cause - an impressive total of 7 944,60 EUR was raised.
New Event Under NFCtron's Baton! Kefír is our latest festival addition! Get ready for a weekend packed with concerts, workshops and entertainment for all ages. Whether you’re into Xavier Baumax, Vltava or Kašpárek v rohlíku, Kefír has something for everyone.
Mirai Summer Tour continues
And don’t forget about the Mirai Summer Tour! The band is on a series of concerts across the Czech Republic until September and NFCtron will be there to ensure smooth payment transactions.
